SUMMARY:Getting Started with AWS
DESCRIPTION:**🌩️ Getting Started with AWS** **with Danielle Heberling**\n📅 Wednesday\, April 29th | 6:00–8:00 PM\n📍 City of Beaverton Training Center | Beaverton\, Oregon \nWhether you’ve been cloud-curious for a while or you’re ready to finally make sense of AWS\, this is the meetup for you. Join us for a practical\, beginner-friendly evening dedicated to demystifying Amazon Web Services inlcluding spinning up your first account to understanding the services that power modern web applications.\nWe’ll cover a lot of ground\, but we’ll keep it approachable. \nHere’s what’s on the agenda:\n**🔑 Getting Started** Setting up a new AWS account the right way\, understanding the console\, and a walk through the billing model and Free Tier — because nobody wants a surprise bill on day one.\n**⚙️ The Services You’ll Actually Use** A tour of the core AWS services every web developer should know: API Gateway\, Lambda\, EC2\, S3\, RDS\, and a look at DynamoDB for when NoSQL makes sense. We’ll talk about what each one does\, when to use it\, and how they fit together.\n**💻 Configuring the AWS CLI** We’ll walk through setting up your AWS credentials locally\, including the newer `aws login` command that makes authentication simpler than ever.\n**🏗️ Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD with Danielle** Our own Danielle will close out the evening with an introduction to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on AWS — what it is\, why it matters\, and how to get started. She’ll also do some work with initial automation so you can see how automated deployments come together in a real-world workflow. \n*** \nThis event is open to all experience levels. Whether you’re seasoned developer stepping into the cloud for the first time or someone who just wants to finally understand what all those AWS acronyms mean — you belong here.\nBring your laptop if you want to follow along\, and bring your questions. We love questions. \nLight refreshments will be provided. Space will be limited to 40 attendees\, so RSVP to secure your spot!\nWe can’t wait to see you there. 💛 \n*PDXWIT — Portland Women in Tech* *Building community\, one meetup at a time.*
